Asscher Cut Diamonds Engagement Rings
Asscher cut diamonds are commonly mistaken for emerald cuts due to their obvious similarities. The main difference with an Asscher cut stone is that it is square rather than the normal rectangular shape that is common with an Emerald cut.
In 1854 Joseph Isaac Asscher established the I.J. Asscher diamond company and in 1902 developed the first coined Asscher cut diamond. With 58 facets this cut of stone generally has stepped corners which tends to lift the apparent Brilliant, fire and scintillation of the stone.
